Job Opening:

The Executive Office of Veterans Services is seeking a qualified candidate to join their team as Veterans Employment, Education, and Training Coordinator!

The Veterans Employment, Education and Training (VEET) Program Coordinator works under the guidance of the VEET Director. The VEET Program Coordinator is responsible for cultivating relationships and partnerships with employers looking to hire veterans. The coordinator will cultivate positive working relationships with the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development, specifically Mass Hire, the local colleges/universities, and veteran organizations within the community. The purpose of VEET is to empower veterans and their families with competitive employment and career opportunities.

Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate statewide employment, education, and workforce development initiatives that support veterans, service members, military spouses, and their families.

  • Provide individualized career counseling, employment guidance, and educational planning to assist veterans in achieving career and academic goals.

  • Connect veterans with federal, state, municipal, and community-based employment, training, apprenticeships, certification, and higher education programs.

  • Develop and maintain partnerships with employers, workforce boards, colleges, universities, training providers, and Veteran Service Organizations (VSOs).

  • Lead outreach presentations, workshops, and resource fairs to increase awareness of veteran employment and educational benefits.

  • Assist veterans in accessing VA educational benefits, apprenticeships, credentialing, and training opportunities.

  • Represent EOVS at community events, interagency meetings, and stakeholder forums to strengthen veteran support networks.

  • Promote VEET specific programs like the Student Veteran Council and the Veteran Ready Business Program.

  • Facilitate referrals to other EOVS supportive services to include housing, healthcare, behavioral health, financial assistance, and benefits counseling to address barriers to employment.

ack participant engagement, outcomes, and program performance metrics utilizing the OnBase case management and reporting system.

  • Collaborate with state/federal agencies to improve veteran access to workforce development and educational resources.

  • Support employer engagement efforts by promoting veteran hiring initiatives and educating employers on the value of military experience and transferable skills.

  • Monitor labor market trends and identify emerging training and career pathways aligned with veteran workforce needs.

  • Maintain compliance with EOVS policies, confidentiality requirements, and applicable federal and state regulations.

  • Prepare reports, briefings, and recommendations for leadership regarding program effectiveness, outreach activities, and veteran outcomes.

Qualifications Required at Hire:

Veteran Services Knowledge

  • Knowledge of veteran benefits, programs, and resources at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Understanding of VA education benefits, including the GI Bill and Veteran Readiness & Employment (VR&E) programs.
  • Familiarity with military culture, military occupational specialties (MOS), and the challenges associated with military-to-civilian transition.
  • Knowledge of workforce development systems, apprenticeship programs, credentialing opportunities, and career pathways.
  • Understanding of barriers affecting veteran employment, education, and training outcomes.

Communication & Interpersonal Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build rapport with diverse populations and stakeholders.
  • Strong customer service and client advocacy skills.

Program Coordination & Case Management

  • Case management and client tracking experience.
  • Ability to assess needs, develop service plans, and coordinate EET referrals.
  • Knowledge of data collection, reporting, and outcome measurement.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Experience facilitating collaboration among government, nonprofit, and private-sector stakeholders.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Regulatory & Administrative Knowledge
