Job Description

An established small-animal hospital in Los Angeles is seeking an Associate Veterinarian with compensation up to $205,000. Signing, retention and relocation packages up to $75,000 are available.

The Hospital

This busy, full-service practice provides comprehensive care spanning wellness and preventive services, dentistry, geriatric care, routine surgery, and same-day urgent care during business hours. The hospital features in-house laboratory diagnostics for rapid results, digital radiography and ultrasound on-site, and a well-stocked pharmacy with prescription diets and medications.

Operations are designed for convenience and efficiency, with availability seven days a week, short wait times, same-day and walk-in appointments, multi-pet visits, appointment reminders, and ample parking. The medical team includes veterinarians, credentialed technicians, and experienced support staff who collaborate through daily rounds and clear clinical protocols. The Role

  • Delivering high-quality medical, dental, and routine surgical care for small animals
  • Performing comprehensive patient exams, diagnostics, and treatment planning
  • Interpreting laboratory and imaging results to support timely decision-making
  • Communicating clearly with clients about preventive care, diagnoses, and treatment options
  • Maintaining accurate medical records and adhering to controlled substance protocols
  • Participating in daily rounds and collaborating with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff
  • Supporting hospital workflows and quality standards from intake to discharge
  • Assisting with urgent care during business hours as needed

Requirements

  • DVM or VMD degree from an accredited institution
  • Active California veterinary license (or eligibility to obtain)
  • DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Eligibility to work in the United States
  • 1+ years of experience in a veterinary practice
  • Strong clinical, surgical, dental, and communication skills
  • Commitment to compassionate, client-centered care and effective teamwork
