Thrive Pet Healthcare, East Austin is looking for a full-time Veterinarian, Medical Director to join our team in Austin, TX. Thrive is offering a 30k Sign-On Bonus and Relocation Support!

About You
As a leader in our hospital, you'll drive positive change and growth. Your influence will shape our vision, foster an exceptional culture, and maintain high standards of care. Partnering with the practice manager and leadership team, you'll develop strategies, implement improvements, and guide our hospital towards excellence in patient and client care, while supporting staff development.

You’ll support and mentor veterinarians at your hospital toward achieving medical excellence and enhancing patient care and outcomes through close collaboration with practice managers and hospital leadership. With our comprehensive support, you'll be empowered to perform at your best. Utilize leadership training resources and mentorship programs to develop your skills and advance your career.

The success of your patients’ care matters to you, and your success matters to us. Our progressive compensation model includes competitive base salaries, quarterly production compensation, and a Medical Director stipend, plus no negative accrual.

You’re willing and able to lead and mentor a collaborative veterinary team, foster a positive hospital culture, support doctors with varying backgrounds and experience levels, and partner closely with hospital leadership to continue advancing medical quality, patient care, and the overall client experience.

About Thrive Pet Healthcare, East Austin
We’re a small animal primary care practice located in the heart of Austin, TX, providing comprehensive veterinary care for dogs and cats throughout East, South, and Central Austin. Our services include wellness and sickness exams, vaccinations, preventive care, spay and neuter procedures, surgery, diagnostic imaging, laboratory testing, and end-of-life care.

Our team is committed to creating a positive experience for pets and the people who love them, with an emphasis on personalized care, strong client relationships, collaboration, and high-quality medicine. Our veterinarians bring diverse clinical interests and backgrounds to the hospital, creating an environment where collaboration, mentorship, and continued professional growth are valued.

Located at 2795 E 7th Street, our hospital serves East Austin and surrounding neighborhoods including Rosewood, Rainey Street, Upper Boggy Creek, and Pleasant Valley.                                 We are open Tuesday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Compensation is negotiable based on credentials and experience. The actual salary offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Base Salary Range: $170,000–$200,000

In addition to base salary, this Medical Director opportunity includes a Medical Director leadership stipend, an elevated production percentage, and a substantial sign-on bonus, creating the opportunity for first-year total compensation well above $200,000!

Your Experience & Skills

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM / VMD) or equivalent degree required
• State Veterinary Board License and must be in good standing for the state in which they intend to be hired, prior to their start date
• Active DEA license or DEA licensure eligible
