Veterinary Technician / Veterinary Assistant

Myers Animal Clinic is seeking an experienced and dependable Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join our team. This position plays a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting the medical team through efficient workflow, strong clinical skills, and clear communication.


We are looking for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, works well within a team, and takes pride in providing exceptional care to both patients and clients.


Position Requirements


Candidates must have prior veterinary experience and demonstrate strong clinical and interpersonal skills.


The ideal candidate will possess:


  • Previous veterinary technician or assistant experience, 1 year minimum (required)
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment
  • Leadership qualities and initiative
  • Working knowledge of vaccine protocols and preventative care
  • Strong communication and client education skills
  • Compassionate and attentive patient care approach
  • Confidence in patient handling and restraint
  • High level of organization and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with computers, veterinary software, apps, printers, and payment systems
Schedule & Availability


  • Monday through Thursday: 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Friday: 7:45 AM – 1:30 PM
  • No weekends
Candidates must be available to work this full-time schedule.


Key Responsibilities


The Veterinary Technician / Assistant supports the medical team and helps maintain efficient clinic operations.


Responsibilities include:


  • Assisting with appointments and maintaining patient flow to keep doctors on schedule
  • IV catheter placement
  • Venipuncture (jugular and peripheral)
  • Laboratory procedures, including urinalysis and sedimentation review
  • Assisting with cytology
  • Operating laboratory equipment, including IDEXX systems (or ability to learn quickly)
  • Taking digital radiographs, including proper positioning and settings
  • Confident patient restraint during exams and procedures
  • Communicating clearly with clients and team members
  • Educating clients on vaccines, preventatives, and treatment plans
  • Cross-training to assist with front desk duties as needed
