Asheville Veterinary Associates South is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our close-knit small animal general practice in beautiful Asheville, NC.

What You'll Do

As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll support our veterinarians and technicians in providing outstanding care to our patients and clients.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with patient restraint and handling
  • Preparing patients for exams, surgery, and dental procedures
  • Supporting anesthesia and surgical workflows
  • Collecting samples and running diagnostics
  • Administering treatments as directed
  • Maintaining clean and organized treatment areas
  • Providing excellent client communication and education
  • Helping create a positive, team-oriented hospital environment

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • 2+ years of experience as a Veterinary Assistant
  • Experience in a small animal veterinary hospital
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience assisting with surgery and dentistry
  • Comfortable working in a GP environment
  • Interested in continued learning and professional growth
  • Someone who enjoys building strong relationships with their team

Compensation & Benefits

$16-18/hour

Pay is based on experience.
