Veterinary Assistant

Cat Hospital of Fairfax is looking for a part-time compassionate and skilled Veterinary Assistant who loves to work with cats. At our Rarebreed clinic, you can help reimagine the veterinary experience in your community. We are a full-service medical center for cats specializing in preventive medicine, responsive treatment, and collaboration with owners. Our clinic is here to make a comfortable and stress-free environment for clients and their cats!

Veterinary Assistant   $18.00 - $21.00 per Hour

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Provide compassionate care to pet patients and their loved ones
• Keep accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policy
• Prepare and maintain the exam rooms and treatment areas
• Perform physical assessments and record your observations
• Prepare estimates for procedures and discusses financial commitments with clients
• Explain necessary follow-up and home care instructions
• Stock clinic treatment area and exam rooms, and inform inventory manager when supplies need to be ordered
• Care for all surgical materials and keep the operating room properly stocked and prepared for surgery

REQUIREMENTS

• 1 plus year veterinary experience or education (preferred)
• Team-oriented
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
