Veterinary Assistant / CSR (hybrid role)

A minimum of 1 year experience as a Veterinary Assistant / Technician is required for consideration. Our Veterinary Assistants are valuable members of our medical teams and play a crucial role in patient care and client service. You will work closely with doctors and technicians to increase the efficiency of our hospital as well as the level of care we provide as a team. 

This is considered a full-time position (Monday - Thursday).  Time would be split between working as a Veterinary Assistant and CSR up front.  

Compensation: $17 - $20 per hour (experience based)

Skills and Qualifications:  
  • 1+ years' experience in veterinary or medical practice required 

  • Minimum 2 years’ customer service experience preferred

  • Computer experience and proficiency required (email usage, word/excel, operation of office equipment such as, fax machine, copy machine, and postage meter) 

  • Must possess basic math skills to determine proper deposits, make change, and process payments utilizing credit card and check terminal

  • Excellent communication skills with clients and team members 

  • Proficient time management, ability to solve problems, learn, and handle multiple tasks 

  • Enthusiastic team player with a patient, and positive professional attitude

  • Assist DVMs with appointments, prepping patients for surgery and minor procedures, surgical assisting, and pro-actively set up for any procedures or diagnostic tests

  • Restrain animals in a safe, efficient, and caring manner

  • Ability to draw blood properly, and place IV catheters

  • Obtain accurate vitals, obtain medical histories

  • Collect and prepare laboratory samples such as fecal, urine, and ear cytologies

  • Care and maintenance of all medical equipment including laboratory machines, surgical packs, anesthesia machines, and any other tools that are essential to daily operations

  • High quality client communication on patient updates and questions
