The University of Florida, Veterinary Hospitals at the World Equestrian Center, is seeking an Equine Veterinary Assistant Manager to support our sports medicine, rehabilitation, and advanced imaging services. This working manager role blends hands on patient care with team leadership in a state of the art facility.

Equine Veterinary Assistant Manager - UF Veterinary Hospitals at the World Equestrian Center – Ocala, FL

What You’ll Do:
• Lead & Develop Staff
Recruit, train, schedule, and mentor veterinary assistants and technicians. Oversee performance, ensure coverage, and support staff growth.
• Deliver High Quality Patient Care
Participate in routine and emergency equine care, assist with exams and procedures, coordinate daily workflow, and ensure accurate medical records and charge entry.
• Support Hospital Operations
Assist with budgeting, manage incident reporting, track caseload and revenue, collaborate with faculty and client services, and help prepare treatment estimates.
• Advance Training & Education
Coordinate technician training and CE opportunities. Provide hands on instruction to veterinary staff and students in safe, effective equine handling and care.
• Maintain Facilities & Equipment
Ensure equipment, supplies, and service areas are organized, functional, and compliant with biosecurity protocols. Oversee equipment logs, maintenance schedules, and inventory checks.

This is a physically demanding position that requires excellent horse handling skills and experience, and the candidate must not have any medical conditions or implants which would preclude entry into the MRI suite.
This is a full-time, benefited position and is considered essential personnel. This position requires a post offer health assessment.

Background check will be required.

Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position working varying days of the week (weekends and holidays included), varying shifts and “on-call duty”.
This individual is considered essential personnel, which may include reporting to work at any of the UF Veterinary Hospitals during Main Campus closures.

Minimum Qualifications:

Expected Salary:

$23-$29 commensurate with education and experience

  
Preferred

Credentialed Veterinary Technician. Previous experience managing staff in a equine veterinary hospital. Previous experience with equine rehab and associated equipment. Previous experience with CT, MRI, PET, radiography.
