You will regularly work with Advanced 3D Imaging and utilize robust Advanced Anesthesia Support protocols tailored for complex oral surgery cases. While our specialization is dentistry, we are also equipped to handle Pet Wellness, general Surgery, and Emergency Care, providing a well-rounded medical perspective. Job Description

The Veterinary Dental Clinic of NC is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our hospital to provide exceptional care to our patients! We are a dentistry referral hospital located in a beautiful 4,000 square-foot facility with all of the bells and whistles, including:

  • Cone beam CT scanner in a dedicated CT suite
  • Surgery suite
  • Large open treatment area with two-story height ceilings, upfitted with dedicated outlets for O2, compressed air & scavenging for multiple dental tables
  • Fully-equipped in-house lab with Idexx analyzers, centrifuge, microscope, etc
  • IV pumps dedicated to each dental station and surgery suite
  • Anesthesia machines dedicated to each dental station and surgery suite
  • CRI pumps
  • Multiparameter monitors for each station and the surgery table (EtCO2, SpO2, BP, Temp, HR, RR, ECG)
  • Ventilators
  • Piezotome
  • Dedicated training space for wet labs, equipped with eleven stations, each with its own high-speed handpiece.

You will work alongside other skilled Vet Assistants and support our Registered Veterinary Technicians & DVMs in the daily flow of the hospital. Responsibilities/Qualifications

Position Skills:

  • Assist DVMs and credentialed veterinary technicians with appointments, prepping patients for surgery and minor procedures, surgical assisting, and pro-actively set up for any procedures or diagnostic tests
  • Restrain animals in a safe, efficient, and caring manner
  • Obtain accurate vitals, obtain medical histories, and/or note any changes of patient's condition to DVM
  • Collect and prepare laboratory samples
  • Care and maintenance of all medical equipment including laboratory machines, surgical packs, anesthesia machines, and any other tools that are essential to daily operations
  • High-quality client communication on patient updates and questions

Position Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED certificate
  • Flexible schedule including some weekend and holiday shifts
  • Knowledge of medical procedures and animal handling
  • Must possess strong communication skills, good judgment and be able to manage stressful situations, and work with others on a team respectfully
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
