You'll play an important role in pets' lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients. Your life-changing work will range from hands-on patient support, safe restraint, room flow, and outpatient treatments, to support services including laboratory testing, client communication, admitting, and discharging patients.

Your Experience & Skills

• One year of recent experience in a veterinary setting preferred
• Commitment to working within a team environment
• Positive, will-do attitude!
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Proven ability to multi-task in a busy work setting
• Professional demeanor and outgoing personality
• Willing and able to rotate Saturday shifts as part of the hospital schedule

Thrive Pet Healthcare Wedgewood is looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join us as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.

About The Hospital

Thrive Pet Healthcare Wedgewood is a general practice hospital located in Nashville, TN focusing on wellness care, dentistry, surgery, senior pet care, preventive medicine, client education, and quality patient care. Our hospital has a team-focused work environment and a loyal client base. We pride ourselves on clear communication, compassionate care, teamwork, accountability, and strong patient flow.

We are open Monday through Friday from 7:45 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturdays from 8:45 AM to 2:00 PM, serving the Wedgewood and greater Nashville community.

You're Willing And Able To

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients
• With each hospital function, assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow
• Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with your state''s Veterinary Practice Act and hospital protocols
• Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments
• Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems
• Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts
• Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs
• Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members

Compensation is negotiable based on credentials and experience with an hourly pay rate starting at $18 - $22/hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
