About the Role:
SYCAMORE ANIMAL HOSPITAL - AAHA ACCREDITED small animal hospital is looking for a passionate and skilled Veterinary Associate to join our team in Sycamore, IL! This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of animals and their owners while working alongside a dedicated team of animal care professionals. Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine and complex physical examinations on companion animals
  • Diagnose and treat illnesses, injuries, and medical conditions across a variety of species
  • Develop and implement individualized patient treatment plans
  • Administer vaccines, medications, and perform surgical procedures as needed
  • Maintain accurate and thorough medical records using practice management software
  • Educate and communicate with pet owners regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive care
  • Collaborate with veterinarians, veterinary technicians, assistants, and support staff to ensure high-quality patient care
Requirements:
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) degree from an accredited institution
  • Active or eligible Illinois veterinary license in good standing
  • DEA registration or ability to obtain one
  • USDA accreditation or ability to obtain one
  • Experience in a clinical veterinary setting preferred
  • Strong diagnostic, surgical, and clinical skills aimed at reducing client cost of ownership
  • Excellent communication and client relations skills
  • Compassionate, team-oriented, and committed to animal welfare
  • Option for Part-Time employment 
  • New veterinary graduates welcome with formal mentoring
