Description

Your Impact as a Cardiology Veterinary Assistant

  • Deliver Hands-On Clinical Support: You'll assist cardiologists and technicians with patient exams, triage, and procedures, as well as performing venipuncture, administering oral medications, and taking radiographs.
  • Support Specialized Cardiac Diagnostics: You'll assist with specialized cardiac diagnostics such as obtaining ECGs, setting up Holter monitors and collecting data, and supporting blood pressure measurement while helping document findings throughout each visit.
  • Prepare and Support Every Patient: You'll prepare patients for diagnostics and procedures, assist with positioning and gentle restraint, support the doctor and technician during procedures, and help with instrument cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance of cardiac equipment.
  • Provide Compassionate Care: You'll provide compassionate patient care and ensure patient comfort while maintaining a clean and organized facility.
  • Create a Positive Client Experience: You'll discharge patients, review treatment plans and medication administration, and follow-up care with clients, and assist with client service operations such as answering phones and scheduling appointments.
  • Drive Operational Excellence: You'll accurately maintain medical records, prescriptions, and invoices using our computer systems, support exam and procedure room turnover, help monitor supply inventory, and assist with training new teammates.

What You'll Bring to the Team

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent (must be at least 18 years old).
  • Veterinary assistant experience is required; experience in a cardiology or specialty environment is a plus.
  • A calm and efficient approach, with the ability to handle a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment with composure.
  • Confidence and skill in handling pets of all sizes and temperaments.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • The physical capability to lift and carry animals up to 40 lbs, with comfort in prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, and physical activity.
  • The ability to travel to secondary locations as required.

Competitive Compensation

Pay range of $24.00 - $29.00/hr based on experience.
