Dogwood Veterinary Specialty and Emergency is expanding.
Following the success of our flagship specialty and emergency hospital in Marietta, Georgia, we are building our founding Diagnostic Imaging Team for our new 12,000-square-foot specialty and emergency hospital in Dunwoody.
We are seeking experienced Veterinary Technicians, Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVTs), Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVTs), Certified Veterinary Technicians (CVTs), and highly skilled Veterinary Assistants who are passionate about advanced diagnostics, specialty medicine, anesthesia, and providing exceptional patient care.
This is not simply another imaging position.
This is an opportunity to help build one of Georgia's premier specialty hospitals while becoming an essential part of a referral-level imaging service from the very beginning.
Train Before We Open
Your journey begins before opening day.
Selected team members will begin paid onboarding and specialty training between August and September 2026 at our established Marietta hospital.
You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced specialists, emergency clinicians, specialty technicians, and advanced nursing teams while learning Dogwood's culture, workflows, and expectations.
When our Dunwoody hospital opens in October 2026, you will already be part of the team.

Advance Your Diagnostic Imaging Career with a Sign-On Bonus Opportunity
We are excited to recognize experienced veterinary professionals joining our Diagnostic Imaging team and supporting advanced specialty diagnostics.
Candidates with a strong background in Diagnostic Imaging, specialty medicine, anesthesia support, radiology, ultrasound, or advanced patient care may qualify for a sign-on bonus based on credentialing, experience, and technical skillset:
- $6,000 Sign-On Bonus available for Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVT/RVT/CVT) with strong Diagnostic Imaging, Specialty, or advanced technical experience
- $1,000 Sign-On Bonus available for experienced non-licensed Veterinary Technicians or Veterinary Assistants with a strong background supporting Diagnostic Imaging, radiology, ultrasound, anesthesia, or specialty patient care
Sign-on bonus eligibility is determined based on relevant specialty experience and qualifications and is not available to all applicants.
Your Impact as a Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging Technician
As a Diagnostic Imaging Technician, you will serve as an essential member of the specialty team by supporting advanced imaging procedures, anesthesia management, patient safety, and diagnostic excellence.
Advanced Diagnostic Imaging Support
You will support advanced imaging services including:
- MRI
- CT
- Digital Radiography
- Fluoroscopy (when applicable)
Responsibilities include:
- Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging procedures
- Ensure proper patient alignment and positioning for diagnostic accuracy
- Maintain patient comfort and safety throughout imaging procedures
- Support imaging workflows from patient preparation through completion
- Collaborate with radiologists and specialty clinicians on complex referral cases
- Maintain accurate imaging records and documentation
- Assist with quality assurance and imaging protocols
Advanced Anesthesia and Patient Monitoring
Many specialty imaging patients require advanced anesthesia support
You will assist with:
- Patient preparation and anesthesia induction
- Intubation and airway management support
- Anesthesia monitoring and recovery
Monitoring responsibilities include:
- ECG
- Capnography
- Pulse oximetry
- Blood pressure monitoring (IBP/NIBP)
- Temperature monitoring
You will help ensure safe patient care from induction through recovery, including recognizing and communicating changes in patient status.
Specialty and Emergency Collaboration
Diagnostic imaging impacts nearly every service within a specialty hospital.
You will partner closely with:
- Neurology
- Surgery
- Internal Medicine
- Cardiology
- Oncology
- Emergency and Critical Care
You may assist with:
- Imaging for critical and hospitalized patients
- Emergency diagnostic needs
- Specialty procedures requiring advanced imaging support
- Continuity of care between departments
Clinical Excellence and Team Collaboration

- Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation
- Support efficient imaging workflow and patient flow
- Maintain imaging equipment and specialty areas
- Follow radiation safety protocols and hospital standards
- Collaborate with specialists, veterinarians, technicians, assistants, and client service teams
- Contribute ideas that help improve patient care and hospital operations
Who We’re Looking For
We're searching for technicians who bring technical confidence, attention to detail, and a passion for advanced medicine.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of veterinary hospital experience
- Strong veterinary nursing and patient care skills
- Confidence with:
- Venipuncture
- IV catheter placement
- Laboratory diagnostics
- Hospitalized patient care
- Advanced patient monitoring
- Anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
Experience in one or more of the following:
- Specialty Medicine
- Emergency and Critical Care
- ICU
- Surgery and Anesthesia
- Diagnostic Imaging
- Internal Medicine
- High-volume General Practice
Ability to:
- Remain organized in a fast-paced referral environment
- Prioritize multiple patient needs
- Maintain accuracy and attention to detail
- Communicate effectively with specialty teams
Preferred Qualifications
- LVT, RVT, or CVT credential
- Previous MRI experience
- Previous CT experience
- Advanced imaging experience
- Experience supporting specialty procedures
- Strong understanding of radiation safety protocols
- RECOVER CPR Certification
- Advanced ECC, anesthesia, or specialty training
Physical Requirements and Working Environment
This role requires working in a fast-paced specialty and emergency hospital where patient safety and clinical excellence are the highest priorities.
Qualified candidates should be able to:
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and remain active throughout the workday
- Safely lift, carry, and assist in restraining patients weighing up to 50 pounds, with assistance available for larger patients when appropriate
- Safely handle patients of varying sizes, breeds, temperaments, and medical conditions
- Perform repetitive clinical tasks requiring fine motor skills, including:
- Venipuncture
- IV catheter placement
- Patient positioning
- Anesthesia monitoring
- Imaging support
- Specialty equipment operation
- Move patients safely between imaging, ICU, surgery, emergency, and treatment areas
- Communicate effectively with specialists, veterinarians, technicians, assistants, and clients
Working Conditions May Include Exposure To:
- Animal dander, fur, saliva, and allergens
- Blood, bodily fluids, sharps, and infectious diseases
- Cleaning agents, disinfectants, and veterinary medical chemicals
- Ionizing radiation while following established safety protocols and PPE requirements
- Anesthetic gases and specialty medical equipment
- Noise associated with specialty and emergency patient care
