Fort Collins Veterinary Emergency Hospital is hiring a dedicated Hospital Assistant to join our INCREDIBLE team!

Fort Collins Veterinary Emergency Hospital provides 24/7 emergency and urgent care for dogs, cats, and pocket pets. Open to the community since 2005, our team is dedicated to delivering compassionate, high-quality care for pets across the Northern Front Range.

As a Hospital Assistant (HA), you’ll play a vital role in supporting patient care and hospital operations. This position works closely with our veterinary technicians and doctors to ensure patients receive exceptional care while maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient hospital environment.

Experience & Skills Requirements:

The ideal candidate is reliable, team-oriented, and passionate about animal care.

  • Previous veterinary or animal care experience preferred but not required
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Must be able to work mornings, afternoons, nights, and weekends
  • Ability to lift and restrain animals safely
  • Positive attitude with a compassionate approach to patient care
  • Willingness to work some weekends and holidays as needed
  • Desire to grow and advance within the veterinary field

 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Assist veterinary technicians and doctors with patient care and treatments
  • Properly restrain animals for exams and procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness of exam rooms, treatment areas, and hospital spaces
  • Clean, disinfect, and prepare surgical and medical equipment
  • Monitor and care for hospitalized patients (walking, feeding, cleaning cages)
  • Stock supplies and maintain inventory levels
  • Assist with laundry and general hospital upkeep
  • Support team members to ensure efficient workflow and excellent patient care
  • Help create a positive experience for both clients and patients
