VCA Alameda East Veterinary Hospital is looking for an experienced, people-focused Hospital Director to join our leadership team and help shape the future of one of Denver's most comprehensive veterinary hospitals.

Alameda East is a unique hybrid hospital offering General Practice, Emergency, and Specialty veterinary medicine under one roof. Our team includes board-certified specialists in areas such as Neurology, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Emergency & Critical Care, and more, working alongside experienced general practitioners, technicians, veterinary assistants, and support teams.

Located in Denver, our hospital brings together an incredible depth of medical expertise, advanced technology, and compassionate people who are committed to providing exceptional care for pets and their families.

As Hospital Director, you will have the opportunity to lead approximately 200 associates across multiple services while partnering closely with medical and operational leaders. You will help create an environment where teams feel supported, doctors can practice excellent medicine, clients receive exceptional service, and the hospital continues to grow and thrive.

What You'll Do

As Hospital Director, you will provide strategic and day-to-day leadership across the hospital, including:

• Build an exceptional culture by fostering collaboration, trust, accountability, and a positive work environment.
• Lead and develop people by identifying future leaders, coaching managers, and creating opportunities for professional growth.
• Champion the client experience and partner with hospital teams to consistently exceed client expectations.
• Partner with medical leadership to support exceptional patient care while balancing the operational needs of the hospital.
• Drive hospital performance through thoughtful oversight of financial performance, including accountability for the hospital's Profit & Loss.
• Support growth and business development by identifying opportunities to expand services, improve access to care, and strengthen hospital performance.
• Partner with Marketing to promote hospital services and build strong relationships within the local veterinary and community network.
• Recruit and retain exceptional talent, including doctors, technicians, veterinary assistants, and support professionals.
• Strengthen onboarding, training, and continuity programs to ensure associates have the tools and support needed to succeed.
• Collaborate across General Practice, Emergency, and Specialty services to promote strong communication and a cohesive hospital experience.
• Navigate competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while keeping people, patients, clients, and the long-term health of the hospital at the center of decision-making.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for an experienced, emotionally intelligent, and highly collaborative leader who enjoys developing people and building strong teams.

The ideal candidate will bring:

• 3-5+ years of strong leadership experience with a demonstrated history of building, developing, and retaining high-performing teams.
• Experience leading a specialty, emergency, multi-service veterinary hospital, or multi-site operational business strongly preferred.
• Veterinary industry management experience; specialty and/or emergency experience is a plus.
• Proven success in people leadership, employee engagement, and culture development.
• Excellent customer service and personnel management skills.
• Strong business acumen, including experience with financial management, budgeting, revenue growth, and Profit & Loss accountability.
• Knowledge of sales, marketing, and business development strategies.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to communicate effectively with a diverse team of doctors, medical professionals, managers, and support staff.
• A high level of emotional intelligence, with the ability to build trust, navigate challenging conversations, and bring people together around common goals.
• The ability to prioritize and multitask effectively in a complex environment with changing needs.
• A demonstrated ability to balance immediate operational priorities with long-term strategic growth.
• A genuine passion for veterinary medicine and creating an exceptional experience for both pets and the people who care for them.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $90,000-$120,000
