The Hospital

The Role
- Serve as the clinical leader, setting and upholding medical standards and patient-safety protocols
- Provide hands-on patient care for the majority of the workweek across wellness, medical, surgical, dental, and select exotic-pet cases
- Mentor and coach associate veterinarians; lead case reviews and regular doctor meetings
- Partner with practice management on scheduling, workflow optimization, inventory, and team development
- Ensure accurate medical recordkeeping and appropriate, compliant charging practices
- Oversee controlled substance compliance, radiation safety, and related regulatory requirements
- Support community engagement through client education and local outreach
- Assist with recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding veterinary team members

Requirements
- DVM or VMD degree (or equivalent) from an accredited institution
- License to practice veterinary medicine in Alabama (or ability to obtain)
- DEA registration and applicable state registrations
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- 3-5 years of clinical experience preferred; prior leadership or mentorship experience is a plus
- Strong communication skills, sound clinical judgment, and commitment to collaborative, high-quality care
- Interest in or comfort with exotic-pet cases is welcomed but not required
