The Hospital
This specialty and emergency hospital operates around the clock and is designed for high-acuity care, team-based medicine, and professional growth. The emergency service partners closely with on-site specialists in internal medicine, neurology, oncology, ophthalmology, diagnostic imaging, rehabilitation, nutrition, and surgery. In-house capabilities include advanced imaging such as CT, MRI, digital radiography, fluoroscopy, and ultrasound, along with endoscopy and comprehensive oncology services, including radiation therapy. A dedicated rehabilitation suite supports post-operative and chronic-care patients, with modalities that include underwater treadmills and multimodal pain management. The team culture emphasizes mentorship, education, and collaboration, with student rotations and continuing education supported by experienced technicians and clinicians.

The Role
- Lead the emergency and critical care service, guiding a team of emergency doctors and hospitalists
- Maintain a clinical caseload as an emergency veterinarian within a 24/7 operation
- Establish and uphold medical quality, patient safety, and evidence-based protocols
- Mentor and develop clinicians and support staff; foster a positive, learning-focused culture
- Collaborate with on-site specialists to deliver integrated, multidisciplinary care
- Partner with hospital leadership on service-level strategy, operations, and financial performance
- Support coverage needs that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- Build and maintain strong communication with clients and referring veterinarians

Requirements
- DVM or VMD (or equivalent) from an accredited institution
- License to practice in Indiana, or eligibility to obtain
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- Significant experience in emergency and critical care; prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and a commitment to the highest standards of medical ethics
