The Role
- Full-time Area Chief of Staff position providing medical leadership across assigned local hospitals, including the Stallings area.
- Leads, coaches, and develops associate veterinarians; cultivates a positive, learning-focused culture.
- Conducts regular hospital visits and quality reviews; supports consistent medical protocols and record-keeping standards.
- Partners with hospital and regional leadership on recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, scheduling, and ongoing mentorship for doctors.
- Oversees medical equipment needs, maintenance, and calibration in collaboration with hospital leadership.
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including controlled substances and radiation safety.
- Delivers clinical care part of the time, including wellness, dentistry, internal medicine, and routine soft-tissue surgery.
- Drives medical quality, client experience, and operational performance; supports technician engagement and retention.
- Requires local travel between assigned hospitals and some evening or weekend coverage as needed.

Requirements
- DVM or VMD degree from an accredited institution.
- Current license to practice veterinary medicine in North Carolina (or eligibility to obtain promptly).
- Eligibility to work in the United States.
- Proven leadership experience mentoring or managing veterinarians.
- Competence in routine surgeries and dentistry, with strong clinical judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills; ability to influence across multiple sites.
- Working knowledge of regulatory compliance, including controlled substance management and radiation safety.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, client-facing, retail-clinic environment.
- Valid driver license and reliable transportation for local travel.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of clinical practice, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
