    Veterinary Medical Director (DVM) – Wakefield, RI

     

    A veterinary hospital is seeking a Medical Director (DVM) to lead its small animal practice. This is an exciting opportunity for a veterinarian who is passionate about leadership, high-quality medicine, and building strong relationships with both clients and team members. This role offers a combination of clinical practice and leadership responsibilities, allowing you to shape medical standards, mentor a team, and drive overall hospital success.

    About the Role

    • Provide medical, surgical, and preventive care for small animal patients
    • Lead and mentor a team of veterinarians and support staff
    • Establish and maintain clinical protocols and standards of care
    • Collaborate with leadership on hospital operations and growth initiatives
    • Foster a positive, collaborative, and mentorship-driven culture
    • Practice with autonomy while supported by strong operational resources
     

    Responsibilities

    • Perform diagnostics, treatment planning, and surgical procedures
    • Oversee quality of care and patient outcomes
    • Support team development, training, and performance
    • Ensure compliance with veterinary regulations and best practices
    • Maintain accurate medical records and clinical documentation
    • Build strong client relationships through clear communication and education

    Qualifications

    • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree from an accredited institution
    • Active or eligible veterinary license
    • Strong clinical and diagnostic skills
    • Leadership experience or interest in a leadership role
    • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
    • Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care
