The Role
- Full-time, multi-site leadership position overseeing medical quality and doctor development across assigned hospitals
- Coach, mentor, and manage associate veterinarians to deliver safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care
- Conduct regular hospital visits, quality reviews, and case discussions to support consistent standards of care
- Lead doctor recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and ongoing training; support a strong mentorship culture for new graduates and externs
- Partner with practice and operations leaders to drive clinical excellence, client satisfaction, and hospital performance
- Guide medical equipment stewardship, including functionality, maintenance, and requests for additions
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements, including controlled substances and radiation safety
- Represent the hospitals within local professional organizations and referral communities
- Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends as needed to support teams and clients

Requirements
- DVM/VMD degree from an accredited institution
- License to practice veterinary medicine in North Carolina (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain)
- Proven clinical competence in general practice, including routine soft-tissue surgery and dentistry
- Demonstrated success coaching or leading veterinary teams; multi-site leadership experience is a plus
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills; comfortable traveling between local hospitals
