Veterinary Medical Director  – Houston, TX

A veterinary practice is seeking a Veterinary Medical Director to lead its clinical team while continuing to provide exceptional patient care. Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality medical, surgical, and dental care for companion animal patients.

• Lead, mentor, and support veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to promote clinical excellence and professional growth.

• Establish and uphold medical protocols, quality standards, and best practices throughout the hospital.

• Collaborate with leadership to improve hospital operations, workflows, and client experience.

• Perform comprehensive physical examinations, diagnostics, treatment planning, and surgical procedures.

• Educate clients on treatment options, preventive healthcare, and long-term wellness.

• Ensure accurate and timely medical records while maintaining compliance with applicable regulations and hospital policies.

• Participate in continuing education and support the ongoing development of the veterinary team.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.

• Active or eligible veterinary license in the state of practice.

• Previous leadership experience preferred.

• Strong skills in general medicine and surgery.

• Excellent communication, mentoring, and team leadership abilities.
