The Role
- Full-time, 100% hospital-based, working manager position
- Lead, coach, and retain associate veterinarians across assigned local hospitals, fostering an inclusive, collaborative culture
- Uphold medical quality by reviewing records, conducting quality assessments, and guiding clinical standards for safe, effective, client-focused, timely, efficient, and equitable care
- Provide direct patient care part of the week, including routine surgery and dentistry
- Partner with practice management to deliver operational goals, client satisfaction, and access-to-care initiatives
- Oversee onboarding and coaching for newly hired veterinarians; support experiential learning and skill development
- Collaborate with talent partners to recruit veterinarians; host externs and candidates for hospital experiences
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including controlled substances and radiation safety; serve as responsible veterinarian for applicable permits when needed
- Manage medical equipment needs and inventory, coordinating requests and maintenance
- Address and resolve client concerns related to medical care in a timely, professional manner
Requirements
- DVM/VMD degree from an accredited institution
- Active Florida veterinary license (or eligibility to obtain prior to start)
- DEA license eligibility and knowledge of controlled substance regulations
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- Proven clinical proficiency, including routine surgery and dentistry
- Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and communication skills; able to influence across multiple hospital teams
- Comfortable reviewing medical records, performing quality audits, and using practice software
- Organized, solutions-focused, and able to balance clinical and leadership responsibilities; local travel between assigned hospitals as needed
