The Role
- Full-time leadership role guiding associate veterinarians across assigned clinics in the Louisville area
- Champion a culture of quality and safety to optimize medical outcomes, client experience, and hospital performance
- Conduct regular hospital visits and quality reviews to ensure regulatory and medical standards are met
- Coach, develop, and evaluate veterinarians; lead onboarding, mentorship, and continuing development programs
- Partner with local practice leadership to meet key performance indicators and improve clinical workflows
- Support recruiting efforts, assist with interviews, and help build strong doctor pipelines
- Foster engagement and retention for veterinarians and credentialed technicians
- Oversee medical equipment functionality, inventory, maintenance, and calibration in partnership with local leaders
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including controlled substances and radiation safety
- Build professional relationships through participation in local and national veterinary organizations
- Primarily daytime schedule with some Saturdays; occasional extended hours to meet operational needs
Requirements
- DVM/VMD degree from an accredited institution
- License (or eligibility) to practice veterinary medicine in Kentucky
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- DEA license (or eligibility)
- Proficiency in general-practice medicine and routine surgery using standard equipment
- Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and communication skills
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities
- Comfortable working around a variety of companion animals; ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform the physical duties of the role
- Willingness to work some Saturdays and occasional evenings as needed
