The Role
- Serve as the clinical leader of the hospital, setting and upholding medical quality standards
- Provide hands-on patient care for the majority of the schedule while guiding medical excellence across the team
- Mentor and coach associate veterinarians; conduct case reviews and support continual skills development
- Lead regular doctor meetings to align protocols, review cases, and set priorities
- Partner with the Practice Manager to optimize scheduling, workflows, and team utilization
- Oversee appropriate use and maintenance of medical equipment and ensure regulatory compliance
- Manage controlled substance stewardship and serve as the Radiation Safety Officer as required
- Support recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding of veterinary talent
- Engage with the local community to strengthen client relationships and promote access to care

Requirements
- DVM or VMD degree (or equivalent)
- Active license to practice veterinary medicine in Rhode Island (or ability to obtain)
- Active DEA registration and applicable state-controlled substance credentials
- 3 to 5 years of clinical experience; prior leadership experience preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- Commitment to a minimum of 35 hours per week
