Veterinary Receptionist | $22–$28/hr + $3.50/hr Overnight Differential | Full-Time Benefits | Four 9-Hour Shifts | Latham, NY

Join Capital District Veterinary Referral Hospital as a full-time Veterinary Receptionist (Client Care Specialist) and become an essential part of our emergency and specialty veterinary team. This is an opportunity to combine exceptional customer service skills with meaningful work supporting pets, clients, and veterinary professionals during critical moments.

Compensation

  • $22.00–$28.00 per hour, based on experience, knowledge, and skills
  • Overnight differential: Base pay + $3.50/hour for hours worked between 11:00 PM and 7:00 AM

Responsibilities
  • Welcome clients, patients, and visitors with professionalism and compassion
  • Educate clients and referring veterinarians about hospital services and specialty departments
  • Provide support and guidance to clients both in person and over the phone
  • Schedule appointments efficiently within our multi-specialty referral and emergency hospital
  • Manage incoming calls, emails, reminders, and follow-up communications
  • Maintain accurate client and patient records within the hospital information system
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure a seamless client experience
  • Assist with administrative and front desk operations in a fast-paced environment
  • Handle sensitive situations with empathy, professionalism, and discretion
Qualifications
  • Previous customer service, client care, reception, or administrative experience required
  • Veterinary, medical, emergency, or specialty hospital experience preferred
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and compassionate in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when managing records and communications
  • Comfortable working collaboratively with clients, veterinarians, technicians, and support staff
  • Positive attitude and commitment to delivering exceptional client service
  • Fluent English speaking and reading skills required
