    Veterinary Specialist (Ophthalmology) – Gig Harbor, WA

     

    A veterinary hospital is seeking a Veterinary Ophthalmologist to join its specialty team. This role offers the opportunity to provide advanced ophthalmic care while working in a collaborative, well-equipped environment alongside experienced clinicians.This position is ideal for veterinarians who are passionate about ophthalmology, enjoy managing complex cases, and want to grow their expertise in a supportive, team-oriented setting.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Diagnose and treat ophthalmic conditions in companion animals
    • Perform specialized eye procedures and surgeries
    • Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans
    • Utilize diagnostic tools such as slit lamp biomicroscopy, tonometry, and imaging
    • Collaborate with veterinarians and specialists to provide integrated patient care
    • Communicate clearly with pet owners regarding diagnoses, procedures, and aftercare
    • Maintain accurate medical records and clinical documentation

    Qualifications

    • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree from an accredited institution
    • Active or eligible veterinary license
    • Experience or strong interest in veterinary ophthalmology
    • Strong clinical and diagnostic skills
    • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
    • Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care
