Veterinary Specialist (Ophthalmology) – Gig Harbor, WA
A veterinary hospital is seeking a Veterinary Ophthalmologist to join its specialty team. This role offers the opportunity to provide advanced ophthalmic care while working in a collaborative, well-equipped environment alongside experienced clinicians.This position is ideal for veterinarians who are passionate about ophthalmology, enjoy managing complex cases, and want to grow their expertise in a supportive, team-oriented setting.
Responsibilities
Diagnose and treat ophthalmic conditions in companion animals
Perform specialized eye procedures and surgeries
Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans
Utilize diagnostic tools such as slit lamp biomicroscopy, tonometry, and imaging
Collaborate with veterinarians and specialists to provide integrated patient care
Communicate clearly with pet owners regarding diagnoses, procedures, and aftercare
Maintain accurate medical records and clinical documentation
Qualifications
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree from an accredited institution
Active or eligible veterinary license
Experience or strong interest in veterinary ophthalmology
Strong clinical and diagnostic skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care
