Veterinary Sterile Processing Technician

Heart of Texas

Round Rock, TX

 

Full-time: Monday-Friday 11am-7pm

 

Compensation is negotiable based on experience and credentials, with an expected starting range of $20 – $23 / hour. The final pay will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

 

 

About You

You have experience in sterile processing in a veterinary or medical setting and understand the importance of keeping surgical instruments clean, organized, and ready for use. You’re detail-oriented, dependable, and take pride in supporting a safe, efficient surgical environment. In this role, you’ll work alongside our fast-paced and experienced surgery teams, helping ensure they have the instruments and equipment needed to deliver exceptional patient care.

 

Requirements: 

 

  • 1+ years of veterinary medicine experience preferred
  • Previous experience in a veterinary or medical sterile processing role required
  • Knowledge of general surgical instrumentation (required)
  • Strong knowledge of sterilization methods, infection control protocols, and surgical instrument handling.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.

 

Role Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to): 

  • Properly clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment following instrument standards.
  • Operate autoclaves and other sterilization equipment to ensure the highest level of cleanliness and safety.
  • Inspect instruments for defects or damage and report findings to surgical team.
  • Work with the veterinary team to prepare instrument trays and surgical kits for specific procedures.
  • Ensure all surgical instruments are stored in a sterile and organized manner.
  • Follow strict infection control protocols to prevent contamination during surgical procedures.
  • Maintain and track inventory of surgical instruments, tools, screws, plates, and other surgical supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper organization for easy access during procedures.
  • Gain EO2 Gas Sterilizer Certificate and be able to properly run gas loads.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
