About the Externship

PVESC’s externship program provides veterinary students with valuable exposure to advanced patient care while working alongside experienced emergency clinicians, specialists, technicians, and support staff.

Externs may gain experience in:

• Emergency and critical care medicine
• Specialty medicine and surgery
• Diagnostic imaging and advanced diagnostics
• Inpatient care and case management
• Clinical decision-making and treatment planning
• Client communication and collaborative patient care

Students will have opportunities to participate in rounds, observe and assist with procedures when appropriate, and develop practical clinical skills while learning from a highly supportive team.

Who Should Apply
