What you’ll do:
Perform regular veterinary tech duties to include:
- Coordinate daily surgical cases (aka “surgery lead”), including updating PetPoint with surgical notes, drug logging, follow-up medications and treatments, and stage and location changes.
- Perform routine dental cleanings and dental radiographs, with mastery of charting terminology and anatomy.
- Administer sedation and anesthesia medications.
- Intubate and maintain pets on oxygen and/or gas anesthesia.
- Be able to perform cystocentesis for urinalysis, usually ultrasound guided.
- Assist Team Leads, as assigned, with additional tasks (i.e. training).
What we’re looking for:
- CVT Level: Associate degree in veterinary technology—enter at VT3
- Non-CVT Level: High school diploma or equivalent—enter at VT1-3 based on demonstrated experience
- Valid Florida driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Certified Veterinary Technician is preferred, not required.
- Volunteer experience in a shelter or other similar animal care facility.
- One to two years veterinary work experience.
- Four 10 hour shifts on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday is preferred.
