What Our Veterinary Technicians Do
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, surgeries, dental procedures, and medical treatments
- Safely restrain and handle patients using compassionate, low-stress techniques
- Monitor anesthesia, patient vital signs, surgical recovery, and hospitalized patients
- Perform venipuncture, place IV catheters, and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments
- Collect laboratory samples, perform in-house diagnostics, and assist with diagnostic imaging
- Assist with emergency triage, stabilization, CPR, and critical patient care
- Prepare patients, surgical suites, and equipment while maintaining strict sterilization protocols
- Fill prescriptions under veterinarian supervision
- Educate clients on preventive care, medications, nutrition, and home-care instructions
- Provide compassionate discharge instructions and client education
- Maintain accurate medical records and assist with inventory and daily hospital operations
- Keep treatment areas, exam rooms, and surgical suites clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
What You'll Bring
- Previous veterinary technician experience required
- Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, or RVT) preferred
- Passion for animal health and client education
- Calm, confident demeanor during emergencies
- Strong technical skills, including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, laboratory procedures, and anesthesia monitoring
- Excellent communication and client-service skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with veterinary software and basic computer skills
- Commitment to maintaining accurate medical records and high standards of patient care
- Positive attitude, reliability, and a collaborative mindset
- Desire to continue learning and contributing to a positive hospital culture
