Role Description The Veterinary Technician is a full-time, on-site role based at VCare Animal Clinic in Cypress, TX. This role supports veterinarians in providing medical care by assisting with examinations, collecting samples, preparing and administering medications, and monitoring patients before, during, and after procedures. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing basic nursing care, helping with anesthetic induction and monitoring, maintaining treatment and surgery areas, and accurately documenting patient records. The Veterinary Technician also contributes to client education by explaining discharge instructions, home care, and preventive health measures in a clear and supportive manner. This role involves handling and restraining animals safely, maintaining a clean and organized clinic environment, and collaborating with the veterinary team to ensure high-quality, efficient care.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated skills in Animal Care and Pet Care, including safe handling, restraint, and compassionate patient support.

• Proficiency in Veterinary Technology, such as basic diagnostics, sample collection, medication administration, and patient monitoring.

• Experience with Anesthesiology-related tasks, including assisting with induction, monitoring vital signs, and supporting recovery under veterinary supervision.

• Ability to provide clear Client Education on treatment plans, preventive care, and at-home instructions.
• \n
• Relevant certification or degree in veterinary technology or a related field preferred; state licensing or registration as applicable is an asset.

• Strong communication, teamwork, and time-management skills, with attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.

• Comfort working in a fast-paced clinical setting, including occasional evening or weekend shifts as needed.
