About Us
Trail Pet Hospital is a growing small animal practice dedicated to providing exceptional veterinary care with compassion and integrity. We are seeking a dependable, motivated Veterinary Technician to join our team.


Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, surgeries, and dental procedures
  • Safely restrain and handle dogs and cats
  • Obtain patient histories, vital signs, and perform patient assessments
  • Draw blood from standard venous access points
  • Place IV catheters and administer prescribed medications, vaccines, and treatments
  • Run in-house laboratory tests and prepare samples for outside laboratories
  • Perform radiographs and assist with diagnostic imaging
  • Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia patients
  • Monitor hospitalized patients and communicate changes in condition
  • Input medical notes, treatments, and charges into the practice management system
  • Educate clients on medications, preventive care, nutrition, and discharge instructions
  • Maintain accurate medical records
  • Keep the hospital clean, organized, and stocked
  • Cross-train in basic client service responsibilities
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications


  • Previous veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience required
  • Experience with venipuncture, IV catheter placement, radiology, laboratory procedures, and anesthesia monitoring preferred
  • Strong knowledge of animal handling and restraint techniques
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and veterinary software
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Team-oriented with strong attention to detail
Working Conditions

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb stairs throughout the workday
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Flexible schedule, including closing shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed

  • Reliable attendance and punctuality required
