Location: Ozaukee, WI 
Schedule: Full Time | 2nd Shift | 4 Ten Hour Shifts per week | Every Other Weekend | Some Holidays Will Be Required 
Compensation: $20-30/hr (Commensurate With Experience)Applicable Shift Differentials ~ $3/hr for 2nd shift

Sign on bonus - $5000 for Certified Veterinary Technicians, $3000 for Experienced Veterinary Assistants!

In your day-to-day, you will:

• Monitor patient vital signs and activity, ensuring all observations are accurately documented
• Support our veterinarians and provide assistance to other departments as needed
• Deliver compassionate comfort, diagnostic, surgical, and nursing care to all patients, including those requiring critical care
• Perform basic, emergency, and critical care anesthetic monitoring
• Collect and prepare samples for diagnostic testing, including but not limited to blood draws, arterial blood gas sampling, cystocentesis, urinary catheter sampling, and free-catch urine collection
• Perform a variety of laboratory procedures, including but not limited to blood typing, crossmatching, and slide agglutination testing
• Accurately obtain and process abdominal, thoracic, appendicular, spinal, and skull radiographs while adhering to appropriate radiation safety protocols
• Properly operate, care for, and maintain medical equipment
• Communicate with clients in a professional and compassionate manner
• Help maintain clean, organized hospital areas and a safe, sanitary work environment
• Maintain client and patient confidentiality at all times
• Meet or exceed established performance standards for quality and productivity
• Meet or exceed WVRC expectations for attendance and punctuality

What You Bring:

• Certified Veterinary Technicians will be given the highest consideration
• Experienced Veterinary Assistants are welcome to apply
• A strong desire to learn and apply knowledge/skills learned to daily work life
• Ability to communicate effectively both written and oral
• Ability to demonstrate technical procedures as outlined in the technician protocols
• Demonstrate reliability and follow-through with all work-related tasks / projects
• ​​​​​​Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus.
