Veterinary Technician, ICU | $25–$36/hr
Location: Woburn, MA
Schedule: Full-Time | Three 12-hour shifts
Compensation: $25–$36/hour + $5/hour Overnight Shift Differential

Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital in Woburn, MA is hiring an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our ICU and Emergency & Critical Care team. This full-time Veterinary Technician opportunity is ideal for a Vet Tech looking to grow advanced nursing skills while caring for hospitalized and critical patients in a specialty animal hospital.

Join a collaborative team where you’ll work hands-on with a diverse caseload including ICU, post-operative, internal medicine, oncology, urgent care, and specialty patients while practicing advanced veterinary medicine.

Compensation

  • $25–$36/hour based on experience, skills assessment, and technician leveling
  • Additional compensation available for Veterinary Technician Specialists (VTS)
  • Overnight Shift Differential: +$5/hour (11:00 PM–7:00 AM)

Schedule
  • Three 12-hour shifts per week
  • Day shift: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM
  • Overnight shift: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
  • Rotating weekends required
Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to hospitalized and critical care patients across ICU, Emergency, and Specialty services
  • Monitor patient vitals, treatments, and overall condition, reporting changes promptly to attending clinicians
  • Assist with advanced diagnostics, sample collection, medication administration, and dosage calculations
  • Support care for postoperative surgical patients, internal medicine cases, oncology patients, urgent care cases, and specialty referrals
  • Triage critical patients and assist with stabilization and ongoing monitoring
  • Provide compassionate client communication, including patient updates, education, and discharge instructions
  • Collaborate closely with Emergency clinicians, specialists, and fellow technicians to deliver exceptional patient care
  • Maintain accurate medical records and contribute to efficient daily hospital workflow
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of veterinary technician experience preferred; ICU, Emergency, or Critical Care experience strongly preferred
  • CVT, RVT, or LVT preferred
  • Strong technical nursing skills with confidence managing hospitalized and critical patients
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced emergency and specialty environment
  • Excellent communication skills with both clients and team members
  • Positive, collaborative attitude with a commitment to patient care and hospital culture
  • Desire to continue learning, growing clinical skills, and contributing to a supportive team environment
  • Fluent English speaking and reading skills required
