Veterinary Technician | $20-$30/hr 

Location: Naples, FL
Schedule: Full-Time | Three 12-Hour Overnight Shifts Per Week | 7:00 PM-7:00 AM
Compensation: $20-$30/hour based on experience and skill level + $4.00/hour overnight differential + $5,000 Sign-On Bonus for Licensed Veterinary Technicians or up to $2,500 Sign-On Bonus for experienced Veterinary Technicians

Specialists in Companion Animal Neurology (SCAN) is seeking a full-time Veterinary Technician to join our Overnight Neurology & Surgery team in Naples, FL. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Veterinary Technician who is passionate about specialty medicine, anesthesia, surgery, and advanced patient care while working alongside board-certified neurologists and neurosurgeons.

Compensation

  • $20-$30/hour based on experience, skills, and credentials

  • $4.00/hour overnight shift differential

  • $5,000 Sign-On Bonus available to Licensed Veterinary Technicians

  • Up to $2,500 Sign-On Bonus available to experienced unlicensed Veterinary Technicians

  • After-hours surgical on-call rotation with 1.5x on-call pay and bonus opportunities

Schedule

  • Full-Time

  • Three 12-hour overnight shifts per week

  • 7:00 PM-7:00 AM

  • Participation in weekend after-hours surgical on-call schedule

  • 1.5x on-call pay and on-call bonus opportunities available

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced nursing care for neurology and neurosurgery patients.

  • Assist with neurology consultations, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures.

  • Monitor anesthesia during advanced surgical and diagnostic procedures.

  • Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, laboratory sample collection, and patient treatments.

  • Provide inpatient nursing care and closely monitor hospitalized patients.

  • Assist with MRI procedures and advanced diagnostic imaging.

  • Support advanced surgical procedures and specialty patient care.

  • Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation.

  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding patient care and treatment plans.

  • Collaborate with board-certified specialists, veterinarians, and veterinary team members.

  • Continue developing advanced technical skills in specialty medicine, anesthesia, and surgery.

Qualifications

  • Previous Veterinary Technician experience required

  • Experience in neurology, surgery, emergency, specialty medicine, or anesthesia preferred

  • Credentialed Veterinary Technicians (RVT, CVT, or LVT) encouraged to apply

  • Strong technical skills including venipuncture, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, and patient nursing care

  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative specialty team

  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

  • Professional, compassionate, and patient-focused approach to veterinary medicine

  • Ability to manage complex cases in a specialty environment

  • Fluent English speaking and reading skills required
