About You

You’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to support services including admitting and discharging patients.

Role Responsibilities: 

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients. 
• With each hospital function, assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain a positive patient flow. 
• Assist with surgeries and procedures.
• Receive, handle, and treat patients with skill, compassion, and care including accurately performing laboratory tests.  
• Use safe restraining techniques and follow standard protocols.
• Sustain a clean, sterile, organized environment including general areas, treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs. 
• Accurately dispense and administer medications under the supervision of a doctor.  
• Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems  
• Ability to observe the animal's appearance and activity for general physical condition, obvious signs of illness, disease, and discontent.  
• Regular attendance and timeliness are essential functions in order to fulfill the requirements of this position.  
• Strong communication and client service skills. Ability to work with clients and patients in a professional, friendly, and hospitable manner.  
• Work well with all team members and ensure that your actions support the hospital, the doctors, and the practice philosophy.   
• Other responsibilities as assigned. 

Experience & Skills Requirements: 

• 2 years of veterinary experience – strong veterinary technical skills required
• Familiar with veterinary medicine terminology
• Proficient in the use, care, sterilization, and storage of veterinary instruments, materials, and equipment. 
• Familiarity with standard procedures used in various treatments to prepare and provide assistance  
• Understanding of client service principles, including assessing needs, meeting quality standards, and evaluating satisfaction.
• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
• Exhibit a positive attitude and a desire for continuous learning 
• LVT preferred
