Veterinary Technician Windhaven Veterinary Hospital | Plano, TX | Full-Time In-Person

Position Overview

The Veterinary Technician will play a key role in supporting our veterinarians and ensuring excellent patient and client care. This position involves assisting with medical procedures, safe and compassionate patient handling, clear and professional client communication, and delivering high-quality care to every patient and client interaction. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, empathetic, and committed to providing outstanding veterinary nursing care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with examinations, medical procedures, and surgeries • Perform animal catheterization, venipuncture, and patient monitoring • Provide routine and advanced nursing care to hospitalized and outpatient patients • Administer vaccinations and medications as directed • Perform laboratory testing, radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring • Safely and humanely restrain animals • Clean and maintain medical equipment, kennels, and surgical areas • Collaborate with the veterinary team to implement patient treatment plans • Stay current on veterinary terminology, protocols, and best practices

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of animal anatomy and handling techniques • Experience with catheterization and clinical procedures highly preferred • Ability to lift and move animals and equipment as required • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Veterinary Technician certification preferred but not required; willingness to pursue certification is expected
