    Veterinary Technician - Full Time

    Wilcrest Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our AAHA-accredited small animal practice in Houston, Texas. This role is ideal for a technician with strong surgical experience who is ready to take ownership in the OR and help support a positive team-driven culture.

    For the right candidate, this position offers a clear path to Lead Technician or Lead Surgery Technician after approximately 90 days.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support and lead surgical flow, especially morning surgery setup • Induce and monitor anesthesia for routine and advanced procedures • Assist with complex surgeries, including C-sections and exploratory procedures • Anticipate doctors needs and maintain efficient OR workflow • Perform and support CPR when needed • Delegate tasks appropriately and help guide support staff • Educate clients and maintain accurate medical records • Contribute positively to a respectful, collaborative team culture

    Schedule

    • Full-time, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday • Target schedule: 4×10-hour shifts • Rotating Saturdays

    Compensation

    • $21-24 per hour with potential increase when moving to Lead role • Flexibility for highly experienced or licensed technicians • Quarterly team incentive bonus available

    Qualifications

    • 5 years of veterinary technician experience strongly preferred • Demonstrated strong surgical and anesthesia experience required • Comfortable in a fast-paced surgical environment • Confident delegator who can help guide team workflow • Strong CPR knowledge and emergency readiness • Excellent communication and professionalism • Credentialed technicians LVTCVTRVT encouraged to apply
