Emergency Veterinary Technician

All City Pet Care Veterinary Emergency Hospital | Sioux Falls, SD

Full-Time | Day or Overnight Shift | Three 12-Hour Shifts

All City Pet Care Veterinary Emergency Hospital is seeking Veterinary Technicians to join our 24/7 emergency and general practice hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. We are looking for technicians who enjoy a fast-paced clinical environment, want to use their technical skills, and are interested in emergency and critical care medicine.

About All City Pet Care Veterinary Emergency Hospital

All City Pet Care Veterinary Emergency Hospital is an AAHA-accredited, 24/7 veterinary hospital providing both general practice and emergency care for dogs and cats throughout Sioux Falls and the surrounding region.

Our hospital includes:

• 15 veterinarians, including six GP doctors and nine ER doctors
• 70+ hospital team members
• 24/7/365 emergency and critical care
• Advanced diagnostics including CT, ultrasound, digital radiography, and in-house laboratory equipment
• Orthopedic and advanced surgical capabilities
• Experienced lead technicians who provide hands-on support and mentorship
• Long-tenured doctors and team members

As a busy emergency hospital, our technicians see a wide variety of cases and are encouraged to fully utilize their clinical skills.

What You'll Do

Depending on your experience and assigned area, responsibilities may include:

• Triage and assist with emergency and urgent care cases
• Provide nursing care for hospitalized and critical patients
• Perform venipuncture and IV catheter placement
• Administer medications, fluids, and prescribed treatments
• Run in-house laboratory diagnostics
• Take and process digital radiographs
• Assist with CT and ultrasound diagnostics
• Prepare patients for surgical and emergency procedures
• Monitor anesthesia and patient recovery
• Monitor patient status and recognize changes requiring immediate attention
• Maintain accurate medical records and treatment sheets
• Communicate effectively with doctors, clients, and teammates
• Support efficient patient flow throughout the hospital

What We're Looking For

• Veterinary Technician experience strongly preferred
• Credentialed Veterinary Technicians are encouraged to apply
• ER, ICU, urgent care, or critical care experience is a plus but not required
• Strong foundational veterinary nursing and patient-handling skills
• Ability to remain calm and organized in high-acuity situations
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Dependable and able to prioritize multiple patients and responsibilities
• Interest in emergency medicine and continued clinical development

Schedule

We are currently hiring for both day shift and overnight Veterinary Technician positions.

Day Shift

• 6:00 AM-6:00 PM
• Three 12-hour shifts per week

Overnight Shift

• 6:00 PM-6:00 AM
• Three 12-hour shifts per week
• Overnight differential from 7:00 PM-7:00 AM

Both schedules include every other weekend and rotating holidays.

Compensation & Benefits

• Sign-On Bonus for full-time employees: $1k, paid after 90 days of employment, 1 year claw back
• Overnight shift differential from 7:00 PM-7:00 AM
