Veterinary Technician
Slidell Veterinary Hospital – Slidell, LA
Slidell Veterinary Hospital is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and dependable Veterinary Technician to join our team. Located in Slidell, Louisiana, just minutes from downtown New Orleans, we have proudly served the Northshore and surrounding communities since 1962. Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures
- Monitor hospitalized patients and maintain accurate medical records
- Obtain patient histories and communicate treatment plans with clients
- Collect laboratory samples and perform in-house diagnostic testing
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Perform catheter placement, radiology, and anesthesia monitoring
- Prepare patients and surgical suites for procedures
- Educate clients on preventive care, medications, and post-treatment instructions
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe hospital environment
- Provide exceptional customer service while supporting fellow team members
Qualifications
- Previous veterinary technician experience preferred
- Strong animal handling and restraint skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to lift and restrain animals weighing up to 50 pounds
