Thrive Pet Healthcare Specialists of Mansfield are seeking a versatile and motivated Veterinary Technician to join our team in an interdepartmental position supporting ER, ICU, Surgery, Neurology, Imaging (Ultrasound, MRI, CT, etc.) and Medical Oncology.

About You:
As an Interdepartmental Veterinary Technician, you will support multiple departments based on hospital needs. This role is ideal for a technician who is adaptable, eager to learn, and thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
You are not expected to have advanced specialty-specific skills (e.g., chemotherapy administration, MRI operation), but you should have a strong technical foundation and a willingness to grow into more advanced skills over time.
Role Responsibilities:
Experience & Skills Requirements:
Minimum 1-2 years of veterinary technician experience (ER, ICU, or specialty preferred)
LVT/CVT/RVT preferred
Proficient in:
Animal restraint and patient handling
IV catheter placement and sample collection
Medication administration (IV, IM, SQ, PO)
Basic anesthesia monitoring and recovery support
Basic radiology technique
Ability to:
Obtain and interpret TPRs and basic vital signs
Recognize changes in patient condition and escalate appropriately
Perform basic laboratory diagnostics (urinalysis, bloodwork prep, etc.)
Familiarity with:
Surgical preparation and aseptic technique
Post-operative patient monitoring and care
Emergency and critical care workflows
Digital radiography and basic imaging positioning
Strong attention to detail with medical records and documentation
Ability to manage multiple patients in a fast-paced environment

Thrive Pet Healthcare Specialists Mansfield is staffed with emergency veterinarians and technicians 24 hours a day, 7 days a week including holidays. All emergency clinicians are well-versed in emergency procedures and surgery. We can perform emergency procedures and surgeries at any time of the day or night. We also provide medical oncology and radiation oncology, providing comprehensive cancer care under one roof.

We offer a full range of emergency services including in-house bloodwork, digital X-ray, anesthesia, surgery, oxygen support, blood and plasma transfusion capabilities, digital radiology & ultrasound, and endoscopy.
