Schedule: Full-time

Salary: $32.00–$36.00/hour (based on experience)

Sign-On Bonus for qualified candidates

$1500 1/2 paid at 90 days, and 1/2 paid at 1 year!

At VCA California Veterinary Specialists in Murrieta, our supervisors are working leaders. You'll spend the majority of your time supporting patients, clients, and your team on the hospital floor while also having dedicated administrative time for leadership responsibilities. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys coaching others, solving problems, and creating a positive, collaborative work environment.

What You'll Do

As an RVT Supervisor, you will:

  • Lead and support a team of technicians and assistants through mentorship, coaching, and daily guidance.
  • Work alongside your team providing exceptional patient care in a busy specialty and emergency hospital.
  • Partner with hospital leadership on interviewing, hiring, onboarding, performance management, and employee development.
  • Coordinate training and ensure new team members are set up for success.
  • Develop and mentor Floor Leaders within your department.
  • Assist with scheduling, attendance management, and payroll review.
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and collaborative culture.
  • Address concerns proactively and partner with the Hospital Administrator to resolve employee issues.
  • Help maintain high standards of patient care, client service, and operational excellence.

Clinical Skills

Our supervisors continue to practice medicine and should be comfortable performing:

  • Venipuncture
  • IV catheter placement
  • Anesthesia monitoring
  • Surgical preparation and assistance
  • Patient assessment and nursing care
  • Radiology
  • Laboratory procedures
  • Pharmacy duties
  • Patient recovery
  • Compassionate nursing care for hospitalized patients

Qualifications

  • Current California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Previous specialty or emergency experience strongly preferred.
  • High school diploma required; college coursework preferred.
