Veterinary Technician - Surgery

Located in Culver City, ACCESS LA is a referral hospital with 24-hour Emergency services where our technicians encounter all sorts of cases when working closely with some of the most qualified doctors in the country. Add that we have numerous specialty departments and its possible a techs day could involve a Macaw with a broken beak time in one of our many advanced operating rooms watching our Orthopedic Surgeons replace a dogs elbow or operating an MRI. Its a long list of unique experiences best suited to those who absolutely love caring for sick or injured animals in a high-paced renowned animal hospital.

Role Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care and advocate for pets and educate clients. • With each hospital function assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow. • Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with your states Veterinary Practice Act outlined for credentialed veterinary technicians. • Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments. • Assist in maintaining relevant comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems. • Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts. • Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs. • Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.

Experience & Skills Requirements

3 years of experience as a veterinary technician working extensively in specialty surgeries. Enjoy being a key player on a dynamic team providing the highest standard of patient care. Are comfortable caring for dogs and cats or any other animal that may need emergency or urgent care. Embody our core values: service, compassion, integrity, and quality.

Compensation

Non-Credentialed Assistants: $21/hour - $36/hour Licensed Technicians: $26/hour - $42/hour VTS: $43 - $45/hour Pay to be determined by skills assessment.
