Veterinary Technician

Great opportunity at an established general practice veterinary hospital in Tampa. We are seeking enthusiastic, dependable, and team-orientated people to add to our existing team to provide high quality veterinary medical services and customer service. Your duties as a technician would include, but not limited to; performing various diagnostics such as blood analysis, radiology, ultrasound assistance, dental prophylaxis, parasite evaluation, surgical assistance, client education, answering multiple phone lines, cash or credit card transactions, and scheduling appointments.

This position is open to individuals who enjoy working with companion animals and their owners, in a professional, challenging and focused environment. Previous experience with companion animals is preferred. This position requires a commitment to work on Mondays through Saturday. Open availability is preferred.

Skills and Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in the veterinary field 
• Working knowledge of the pharmaceuticals that are prescribed by the Veterinarian
• Good listening skills 
• Compassion/empathetic
• Communication skills
• Physical stamina

Duties and Responsibilities 

• Providing general nursing care
• Examining animals and checking vitals in preparation for the Veterinarian
• Taking X-rays of animals
• Administering first aid for emergencies
• Administering medication and treatments
• Drawing blood samples for testing
• Monitoring animals under anesthesia
