At MIH Systems Group, we make buildings work better. From new construction through existing facility operations, we optimize complex systems with full-service commissioning and hands-on technical start-ups for sophisticated HVAC equipment. You’ll help clients achieve reliable, energy-smart performance.
Your mission
- Install, troubleshoot, start up, and commission VFDs from multiple manufacturers, confirming proper functionality.
- Work closely with leadership to strengthen service operations—staffing, retention, cost controls, and performance targets.
- Develop and nurture customer relationships that lead to repeat and referral work.
- Execute repairs to a high standard and reduce callbacks.
- Report job status, milestones, and issues clearly to both customers and management.
- Present compliant options for additional services based on established protocols.
- Follow safety procedures rigorously and protect the well-being of everyone on-site.
Your toolkit
- 5+ years of hands-on, multi-brand VFD experience.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to lift 50 pounds and work at height/from a ladder.
- Expertise with three-phase motors and control circuits.
- Ability to interpret electrical/mechanical drawings, safety rules, and O&M manuals; skilled with P&IDs, fabrication drawings, and electrical schematics.
- Proven capability installing and troubleshooting heating and cooling systems.
- OSHA 30 and SST certifications.
- Experience preparing inspection and appraisal reports.
- Collaborative teammate with strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills; effective oral and written communicator.
- Mechanical assembly and troubleshooting proficiency.
- Basic computer skills.
- Hands-on programming, calibration, and configuration of 4–20 mA and 0–10 Vdc devices.
- Self-starter who thrives without direct supervision.
- Plus: background with gas detection systems and DriSteem Humidifiers.
Where you’ll work
Field environments across the NY/NJ area, partnering directly with customers on their sites.
Compensation
Estimated Salary: $45 - $64 hourly, with flexibility based on experience and skills.
