We are seeking an experienced Vibration Technician to serve as a technical expert in vibration analysis, condition monitoring, and reliability engineering within a large life sciences facility.
This senior-level role combines advanced technical diagnostics with leadership responsibilities. The position works closely with Maintenance, Engineering, Operations, and Facilities teams to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and implement proactive maintenance strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Perform advanced vibration analysis on rotating equipment, including motors, pumps, fans, compressors, and gearboxes.
Diagnose complex failure modes such as bearing failures, misalignment, imbalance, resonance, and electrical anomalies.
Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and implement failure-elimination strategies.
Develop and improve Predictive Maintenance (PdM), Condition-Based Monitoring, and Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) programs.
Support engineering teams with capital projects, equipment upgrades, and reliability improvements.
Manage work orders and CMMS activities.
Oversee mechanical systems, including HVAC and other facility equipment.
Manage and coordinate maintenance projects and facility initiatives.
Supervise and mentor managers and maintenance personnel.
Support staffing, training, and employee development.
Serve as a key client and stakeholder interface.
Provide oversight of payroll, budgets, QA, and safety activities.
Act as the second-in-command and assume overall account responsibility when senior facility leadership is unavailable.
Drive continuous improvement and reliability best practices across the facility.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
5 10+ years of experience in reliability engineering, condition monitoring, vibration analysis, or rotating equipment.
Minimum 5 years of management experience.
Minimum 3 years of experience in facilities maintenance, plant operations, or engineering services.
Strong expertise in vibration analysis techniques, including FFT, waveform, phase, and resonance.
Experience with predictive maintenance tools, vibration software, and CMMS systems.
Vibration Analysis Category II certification or comparable demonstrated vibration-analysis experience preferred.
Category III or IV certification is a plus but not required.
Experience working in pharmaceutical, life sciences, or other regulated environments preferred.
Strong leadership, analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
