ABOUT THE ROLE

This Vice President-level credit risk opportunity sits within the Financial Institutions group of a well-established banking organization, offering broad exposure across correspondent banking relationships, credit analysis, and regulatory compliance. The role blends rigorous credit underwriting with active relationship management requiring someone equally comfortable building and maintaining FI correspondent relationships as they are conducting deep credit analysis and interfacing with regulators. It's a strong fit for a credit professional who wants ownership across the full credit lifecycle in a structured, compliance-driven environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct in-depth credit analysis on new requests, renewals, credit change requests, and annual customer relationship reviews across a Financial Institutions portfolio
  • Present detailed credit analyses and recommendations to Loan Officers and relevant internal stakeholders
  • Perform due diligence on credit-rated entities in accordance with bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Review and quality-assure credit recommendation reports and proposals to ensure accuracy, consistency, and regulatory compliance
  • Maintain complete and organized credit files with all required supporting documentation;perform annual file reviews
  • Update and maintain the Credit Risk Rating (CRR) system and credit usage tracker;generate monthly reporting items for the Credit Risk Committee and regulatory requirements
  • Report any findings or unusual credit activities that may adversely impact loan collateral or a borrower's repayment ability to supervisors and department leadership
  • Complete credit-related tasks and assessments requested by second-line functions in a timely manner;participate in internal and external audit requests and execute remediation actions as needed
  • Administer and maintain correspondent banking relationships with Financial Institutions to expand the customer base and grow business in line with established policies
  • Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, and Internal Audit to ensure all FI relationships adhere to current OCC and applicable federal regulatory requirements
  • Actively support new customer onboarding and new product initiatives;serve as a liaison between FI clients and internal business departments
