Target Salary Range: $200,000 - 250,000/annally
Behavioral Health Group (BHG) is seeking a Vice President, Criminal Justice Partnerships to lead the development and expansion of strategic referral partnerships across the criminal justice system.
This leader will be responsible for building relationships with Departments of Corrections, Drug Courts, Probation and Parole agencies, correctional facilities, Public Defender offices, and other justice system stakeholders to increase access to medication-assisted treatment (MAT) and recovery services for justice-involved individuals.
The Vice President will identify opportunities to expand BHG's presence within correctional and community supervision settings, establish sustainable referral pathways, and collaborate with internal leaders to drive patient admissions and improve continuity of care. This is a highly strategic, externally facing role requiring exceptional relationship-building skills, business development expertise, and a deep understanding of the criminal justice system.
Key Responsibilities
Criminal Justice Partnership Development
  • Develop and execute BHG's criminal justice partnership strategy across existing and new markets.
  • Establish executive-level relationships with key stakeholders throughout the criminal justice system.
  • Build referral partnerships that increase access to treatment and support long-term census growth.
  • Identify opportunities to expand BHG's services through strategic justice partnerships.
  • Negotiate referral agreements, memorandums of understanding (MOUs), and collaborative initiatives.
  • Represent BHG at state and national criminal justice conferences, association meetings, and industry events.
Primary Partnership Targets
Develop strategic partnerships with organizations including:
  • State Departments of Corrections
  • County and local correctional facilities
  • Drug Courts
  • Adult and Juvenile Probation Departments
  • Parole Departments
  • Public Defender Offices
  • Prosecutors and District Attorney Offices
  • Sheriffs and County Jail Systems
  • Reentry and diversion programs
  • Community supervision agencies
Business Development
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of partnership opportunities across BHG markets.
  • Identify market expansion opportunities within justice systems.
  • Monitor state and local initiatives that create opportunities to improve access to treatment.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Clinical Leadership to successfully launch and sustain new partnerships.
Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Partner with Operations, Clinical Leadership, Marketing, and Executive Leadership to align partnership efforts with enterprise growth objectives.
  • Share market intelligence, competitive insights, and emerging trends within criminal justice.
  • Develop scalable partnership models that can be replicated across BHG markets.
Success Measures
Success in this role will be measured by:
  • New criminal justice partnerships established
  • Department of Corrections relationships developed
  • Drug Court and community supervision partnerships launched
  • Referral volume generated
  • Admissions generated
  • Census growth
  • Expansion into new criminal justice referral channels
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in criminal justice partnerships, justice system business development, healthcare business development, correctional healthcare, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success developing executive relationships within the criminal justice system.
  • Experience working with one or more of the following:
    • Departments of Corrections
    • Drug Courts
    • Probation
    • Parole
    • Correctional facilities
    • Public Defender offices
  • Strong business development, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout BHG markets (50-75%).
Preferred
  • Experience in behavioral healthcare, addiction treatment, correctional healthcare, or community behavioral health.
  • Knowledge of medication-assisted treatment (MAT), opioid use disorder treatment, and behavioral health services.
  • Existing relationships with state or regional criminal justice leaders.
  • Experience developing referral networks that drive measurable growth.
