Overview:

Vision Innovation Partners (VIP) is a leading ophthalmology and optometry platform serving the Mid-Atlantic region, with approximately 50 clinic and 11 surgery center locations across Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, and Washington, D.C.

We’re seeking a Vice President, Facilities and Resource Management to provide executive leadership for the organization's facilities operations, equipment management, and capital construction program. Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Business Development, this role is responsible for the strategic direction and day-to-day execution of all facilities-related functions across the VIP platform. This role leads a team of five as well as an active capital construction portfolio of approximately multiple concurrent projects, including new ASC development, clinic expansions, and facility improvement initiatives.

Location and Travel

This position is based in the Mid-Atlantic region, with the expectation that the incumbent will reside within reasonable proximity to a VIP hub location. Given the hands-on nature of the role and the geographic distribution of VIP's footprint, regular travel across the five-jurisdiction service area is required and is estimated at 30 to 40 percent.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide executive leadership and strategic direction for facilities operations, equipment management, and capital construction across the VIP platform
  • Oversee the capital construction program, including management of architects, general contractors, engineers, and consultants, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and with minimal impact to patient care and clinical operations
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Master Equipment Plan in alignment with clinical, operational, and long-term organizational priorities
  • Establish and lead a scalable preventive maintenance program covering buildings, clinical equipment, and utility systems across all sites
  • Develop and manage operating and capital budgets for facilities and equipment functions, including lifecycle and return-on-investment analysis for major expenditures
  • Ensure regulatory compliance across multi-state ASC and clinic operations, including state Department of Health, CMS, AAAHC, and applicable local permitting and licensure requirements
  • Provide facilities diligence and integration leadership in support of ongoing M&A activity
  • Evaluate and modernize the facilities technology stack, including CMMS, capital project management, and equipment tracking systems, to support a growing multi-site platform
  • Build, develop, and retain a high-performing facilities team aligned with the organization's continued growth
  • Serve as the executive on-call for facilities matters during non-business hours
Qualifications:

Required:

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in healthcare facilities, plant operations, or capital project leadership, including senior management or executive-level experience
  • Demonstrated ownership of a multi-site capital construction program and associated operating and capital budgets
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of physical plant systems, including HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, and building envelope, as well as CMMS platforms
  • Experience navigating healthcare regulatory environments, including ambulatory surgery center operations
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field

Preferred:

  • Multi-state, multi-site ambulatory healthcare experience
  • Experience operating in a private equity-backed or M&A-active environment
  • Demonstrated experience implementing or modernizing facilities and equipment management technology
  • Master's degree in engineering, business administration, or a related discipline
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) certification
